Just wanted to let everyone know that 'real work' is just as hectic as daycare, maybe worse-
Its been tough, adjusting to the new routine and having to be at WORK by 7 50 am...
It makes for a very long day!
I hope you are all well and I miss chatting with all of you! Keep up all the good, hard work you all do for us working moms. It's very very very weird not knowing what my kids are doing now. I sit in class and just think about them and imagine what theyre doing... I miss them like crazy and sometimes I feel teary-eyed. But you know what, I think that because I miss them so much we fight and argue less and value our super-quick evenings together.
It's also noce to have my home back and no work to do or plan for on the weekends or evenings...PLUS less laundry!! YAY!
But all in all...I really miss the kids... These high school kids just dont cut it for me! One of them just came up to me in the hallway today and started baaaawking like a chicken at me. Yeah, I know- WEIRD! baaaawwwk baaaawk!!!! Like that, right in my face, laughed and walked away, of course all his buddies laughed too...
Do I look like a chicken???????????????
Anyways, I miss the cuddles, the smiles, the laughs... all them loving moments that I just dont get anymore... So providers, please cherish them all because one day too, you may get bawwwwked in the face!! _________________ Have a great day- keep smiling!!!

Been thinking about you and how it has been for you going back to work outside the home. Thanks for the update...
I'm not sure if I missed the post, but where are your children going while your at work? How have they adjusted with you working outside the home?
WHAT are you doing with all that room that you have now???lol. I can't even imagine what I would do if I had my house back to just my family and I,,lol. Oh my...the things I could do....
I can imagine hubby must enjoy you being at work outside the home, and more relaxed probably once your home....

Well I havent had a minute to write, but was thinking about 'daycare' today so I thought id update you all!!!
My mornings are still very hectic and I am still struggling with getting a good, quick routine going... I BARELY make it to work for 7 50 am, sometimes its 7 49!!!! I have a 'watch ' to do upstairs with the gr 7 and 8s at 750 am everyday...Its CRAZEEEEEEE!!!!
I think the hardest part is having to wake my kids up, I HATE waking kids up, especially if Cody had a rough night, it makes me sad to have to disturb his sleep so I can hurry him up, rush him out the door and get my butt to work. I do miss those mornings when the daycare kids would arrive and he would be sleeping and wake up when he was ready....
Mikayla is doing fantastic in grade 1, I am happy! I was nervous, but she totally adapted well!
As for Codys daycare situation, it was, well a nightmare! I had found, or was referred to a French lady. Gut feeling was well, shes nice...But that was it... ANyways, looooooooong story short, and I wish it was shorter, it just did NOT work out so I pulled him out and was saved by Jodi actually!!!! Bumped into her and told her my horrible story and she had 1 spot available so i took it, just like that! It all happened so fast...
It made me realize that just because someones French, it doesnt mean anything...She was a very mean and angry person and it breaks my heart to no end that Cody endured whatever he did...
You guys are all great and I still keep passing names around- can you believe I STILL get emails!!! I have no clue from where!!! My website is gone and i havent advertised in months!!!!
Oh well, I hope some of you are getting calls and emails...
Off I go to tackle my messy home...I am looking forward to taking a much-needed 'sick' day in October maybe!!!
One word of advice: If and when you decide to close your home daycare, PLEASE take at least 2 weeks OFF to get your home organized and spend time with your family and do things for yourself. My biggest mistake was only taking 2 days off before going back to work. I am so exhausted and drained and it's soooooooooooo hard getting into a new routine!!!
Ok ladies, hope you are all well, have a fantastic weekend!!!!
PS to Jodi- thank GOD I bumped into you that week...OMG, I appreciate your help and advice about it all...but most of all, thanks for being able to take Cody under your wing for me so last-minute and so quickly! _________________ Have a great day- keep smiling!!!

Its too bad the French lasy didn't work out for you as I know you really want to keep Cody and Chloe together. I assume she is still going there? Its really awesome you were able to get into Jodi since I think that was the initail place you looked at! On the plus side for me I was able to fill Cody's spot quickly with another fulltimer and he is working out great! I am glad it worked out for everyone in the end!...Except the french lady!

Actually nope- Chloe is gone to La Boite a soleil!!! Its on the other side of town, by Confederation... I thought about it BUT I LOVE home daycare!!! I debatted and debatted about it, but sadly Chloe and Cody are now apart and we have to plan playdayes for them!!! I know, Im kinda sad, none of my daycare kids ended up staying together... Most ended up going to La Boite a soleil! I just didnt want my little man treated like a robot... I like knowing that you can tell your proveder, you know what, he had a horrible night, he may need an arly nap or hey he didnt eat, do you mind him finishing his bowl of food here... Poor Chloe is having a hard time adjusting too...She s having a hard time with the faster-paced routine, falls asleep at lunch (at the table!) and misses her crafts like crazy!I used to le t her do as many as she wanted and they only let her do 1 or 2... She's the one who only napped on my couch, and since she always falls asleep eating, they put her in the cot. I wonder if she'll ever fall asleep on her own there Home daycare is so much better!!!
I am sooooooooo happy that you filled the spot- I heard that you were full and I am so happy for you! How are the boys adjusting to sharing you with a herd now!???
Do you still want some referrals or put a pause on them for now??? let me know! _________________ Have a great day- keep smiling!!!

I know I love home daycare too, when we had to put the girls in daycare in Edmonton, I just couldn't bring myself to look at daycare centres!
I have gotten one email from a lady this weekend, who said that you referred them thanks... I am looking for over 2 years old. I have enough babies right now!
I'm sure you will find a good routine for yourself, I think life is just busy period!
